Committees

Appellate Practice

The Appellate Practice Committee is comprised of both trial and appellate practitioners, and is concerned with law and practice in federal appellate courts, with specific emphasis on the Sixth Circuit.  The Committee focuses on court rules and procedures, appellate briefing and oral argument strategies, noteworthy appellate cases, and the importance of preserving arguments for appeal before the trial court.  The Committee also seeks to foster discussion between appellate judges and the bar to elevate the standards of appellate practice in the Eastern District of Michigan.
