The New Michigan Uniform Assignment of Rents Act
The Michigan Uniform Assignment of Rents Act (“MUARA”) was signed into law by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on June 24, 2022. The MUARA becomes effective on September 22, 2022. The MUARA dramatically changes the law governing assignments of rents in Michigan.
