Federal Law Clerk Committee

Most former law clerks would agree that a clerkship is one of the most rewarding and valuable legal jobs they will ever have. With the goal of ensuring that the benefits of a clerkship never end, the FBA Law Clerk Committee seeks to bring current and former federal law clerks together for both networking and practice-related purposes.

One of the Committee’s key projects has been to assemble a Chapter Law Clerk Directory, a searchable database of former law clerks who clerked for Sixth Circuit, district, magistrate, and bankruptcy judges in the Eastern District of Michigan. The directory, which is the first of its kind in the FBA, was developed through generous financial support from our Chapter and the National FBA and is available to all former law clerks and all Chapter members. The Committee will work to ensure that it stays updated.

The Law Clerk Committee also hosts various events, including the Chapter’s Judicial Family Reunion and a number of practice-related educational events.
