SUMMARY:2020 State of the Court Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:2020 STATE OF THE COURT LUNCHEON\nWelcome Back!  After a long spring and summer\, the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association will kick off its annual Luncheon Program on Wednesday\, October 14\, 2020.  This luncheon will be virtual; it will be the first of its kind and it will be one that you definitely will NOT want to miss!\nOur Keynote Speaker is CHIEF JUDGE DENISE PAGE HOOD.   In her state of the Court address\, Chief Judge Hood will discuss the annual highlights\, initiatives and accomplishments of the District Court\, along with the challenges faced by the Court as we negotiate through this worldwide pandemic.\nOur chapter will also recognize:\n\n\nREGINALD TURNER\, winner of the 2020 Cook-Friedman Civility Award and\n\n\nVALERIE NEWMAN\, winner of the 2020 2020 Gilman Award and Valerie Newman\n\n\nUnlike in past years\, this year’s State of the Court VIRTUAL Luncheon will be preceded by  “Small Group Socials” (SGCs) before the luncheon begins.\nThese SGCs will be online social gatherings\, with our firm partners and individual ticket holders randomly broken down into smaller groups and attended by the judges of our illustrious bench.
